This is what we did without Selfies:
We paid a photo booth to take pictures. The booths were usually in a mall or in some public place. The circumference inside was relatively small and the outcome of the picture was always a surprise. You either felt rewarded for spending your money or ripped-off. Incidentally, when I see a photo booth today I still get that yearning to go inside; sit behind the magic current that hides all giggles and face pulling from the people passing by.
Now, we can privately sit on the toilet to take a picture of ourselves!
